What is the mission of CARES?
To improve the overall health and wellness of the City of Warsaw by assisting emergency personnel with response to mental health crises, connecting individuals to community resources and social services, and offering services to prevent emergencies.
What is CARES?
At CARES, we know that everyone needs help sometimes, no matter who you are or where you are from. Yes, even us. We are humans too — imperfections, emotions, and all. We also know that asking for help can be tough and navigating community resources and systems can be tougher. That is why we are here, offering a person-centered, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and empathetic hand to help with mental health crises and acquiring of human needs. Human to human.

What does CARES stand for?
CARES stands for Community Assistance, Resources, and Emergency Services. CARES is a program within the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory. CARES was created in an effort to address unmet mental health needs in the community and assist frequent 911 users with access to other resources and services.
What is CARESresources.com?
CARESresources.com was created in an effort to spread awareness of local resources and services that are available to residents of Warsaw and Kosciusko County Indiana. This website was made possible by community collaboration and a grant funded by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. An audit of CARESresources.com is conducted bi-annually by CARES staff to ensure that resources are up-to-date.

How do I add, update, or delete my resources to CARESresource.com?
Resources can be added by completing the form on this page. If at any time you want to remove your organization or a service from CARESresources.com please email CARES@warsaw.in.gov. If you have issues with this form or would rather submit this information via telephone, call CARES at 574.453.7901.
Does CARES offer financial assistance?
CARES does not offer any type of financial assistance. CARES makes referrals to community resources and volunteers that may be able to assist with financial needs.
What happens when I call CARES?
A CARES staff member will listen to your story and engage you in discussion regarding your needs. The CARES staff member will either immediately provide you with referrals to community services and resources or will take your information, gather resources for you, and call, text, or email you. Depending on the situation, CARES staff may conduct a visit with you in your home or at another location in the community.
What should I do in an emergency situation?
Always call 911 in emergency situations. CARES staff members are not law enforcement officers, paramedics, firefighters, or mental health counselors. CARES staff may respond alongside these other responders in special situations or conduct follow-ups after a 911 call.
